So this is probably going to be the last blog of this format.

I have this idea in mind on bascially just putting the blog posts in one page. Just a series of entries. Also thinking entries will be shorter (but probably more frequent). I saw someone's blog on here and it made me think about how much more neater it is. I figure to just shrink the font size a tad too to make it more compact. The way things are now just isn't very convienent and its probably contributing to why I don't update my website often. ADHD am I right?

In other news! I just started watching Serial Experiments Lain. As of this writing I'm at episode 8. I know its a very popular series with neocities users. I've seen several sites about it or themed around it. I really dig it but yeah its hella crazy. Very prophetic and metaphoric about the internet. Am I right to interpret the show also being about Dissociative Identity Disorder? It would totally make sense if it turned out this was all entirely in her head as if she started dissociating using The Wired, losing her sense of self. I also totally get this sense of impending doom as I watch. Like everything is going to go horribly wrong. I've been mildly spoiled so I don't think its gonna be a disaster but still definitely something. I got that feeling when I watched Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I'm going to totally play the PS1 game when I finish. I see its even wilder.

It really appeals to me because how as a kid the internet and what it could be always felt so magical and otherworldly. Used to see computer books that would describe the internet as the "information highway" with little graphics of highways with 0's and 1's. I remember watching Futurama and the episode where they go on like a VR version of the internet. I wanted that! Now we have VR but... I'm broke, lol. No but I guess the isekai type digital world thing always appealed to me. It's why I like cyberpunk and other futuristic genres and aesthetics.

So I'm now a big Poppy fan! Recently Amy Lee of Evanescence worked with Poppy and Courtney LaPlante for a song called End of You. Utterly amazing! So in the lead up to it I decided to explore both Poppy and Spiritbox music. I didn't get into Spiritbox all that much (probably will take time), but I was smitten by Poppy, especially her latest album Negative Spaces. I knew of her by those videos she used to do, the "I'm Poppy" stuff. I caught wind of her nu-metal side when she worked with WWE NXT. Like okay very weird stuff but cool. I didn't get into it at the time. Obviously changed now! I checked out singles and then little by little got hooked. I did a full discog run of her music. She has her different eras and I was quick to learn more about her history and what happened. Safe to say her latest work is my favorite! I'm not well versed in female metal singers but out of all that I've heard before I never heard a screaming voice like Poppy. Really emotionally charged. I never would have got into this sort of twisted and chaotic style of metal, but if Poppy is a gateway for me then so be it.

Also would you believe it if I told you within the week I got to go see Poppy live for FREE. I shit you not. I entered one of those gleam.io giveaway contests online. Never would have expected. "People win these things???" YES. She's great live. The venue had problems tolerating the low-tunings and deep low end, I had to ignore that. I came out of all this a big fan.

Evanescence performed at Louder Than Life Festival last night and it was streamed. God that was an amazing show!!! I was in the ev discord with the crew having a blast. How many times I had chills???
